G&E Sales Explores Business Opportunities in Romania:

A Recap of Our Delegation Trip to Timişoara, Reşiţa & Bucharest

G&E Sales participated in a delegation trip to Romania from October 18th to October 21st, 2022, along with other Bavarian companies. The trip was led by Dr. Ulrike Wolf (Director of Ministries) from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy, as well as Bayern International. The itinerary included visits to Timişoara, Reşiţa, and Bucharest, with a focus on environmental technology, smart solutions for production, the environment, and energy efficiency - all essential for a circular economy.

As the sixth-largest country in the EU, Romania is a enticing partner for investment and trade, thanks to its strategic location and around 20 million inhabitants with continuously rising incomes. Romania offers a compelling investment environment, a high-quality workforce, and appealing industrial zones, making it a favorable destination for investors.

Bilateral trade between Bavaria (Germany) and Romania has been growing steadily in recent years, with a trade volume of nearly 6.7 billion euros. Romania is now one of Bavaria's top 20 trading partners worldwide. The delegation trip was aimed at business executives from Bavarian companies operating in the fields of environmental technology, smart solutions for production, the environment, and energy efficiency. Participants had the opportunity to meet with economic development actors in Romania, key political figures, start-ups, domestic and German companies working in these areas.

During the trip, we visited several places, including the future EMZ Hanauer factory construction site in Reşiţa. We also had meetings with the University Reşiţa, political representatives of Reşiţa, and other municipal decision-makers. Additionally, we visited the Dräxlmaier company in Timişoara and had meetings with political representatives of Timişoara and representatives of the university.

The travel was organized by the German Chamber of Commerce in Romania who arranged industry contact meetings with Romanian companies, an exchange of experiences, and networking opportunities with German companies already operating in Romania. Furthermore, a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Bavarian representation in Bucharest at the German Chamber of Commerce office took place during the visit. Overall, the trip provided an excellent opportunity for G&E Sales to expand its knowledge and network in Romania and gain a deeper understanding of the country's circular economy.
